What are Alpha Buying Co.’s qualifications?
Alpha Buying Co is owned and run by Sas Ambarchi F.G.A.A Dip. D.T. Sas is a certified, practicing, Gemmologist, a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia and holds a Diploma in Diamond Technology. He has 40 years’ experience in the jewelry industry as a Trader, Valuer, Gemologist, Diamond Grader, and Consultant.
What type of diamond certificates do you recognise?
Alpha Buying Company recognises valuation and gem certificates from:
- GSL, Gem Study Laboratory, Sydney, Australia
- Some European and American laboratories
Do I need an insurance or replacement valuation?
No, but if you have one you can bring it with you.
How long will it take to value my items?
Where possible, we value your items on the spot, so you won’t have to wait for an answer. In most cases, appointments will take less than half an hour.
How and when will I be paid?
Once a price has been agreed upon, we will issue you with a cash cheque to that price. We are located next to a bank and make appointments during business-banking hours so you can cash your cheque right away.
What kinds of gemstones do you buy?
We buy only reasonable-sized and quality gemstones. Gemstones we buy include:

How do you value gold and silver?
When assessing the value of gold and silver we look for a mark that tells us what the precious metal content is. If there is no mark we have other means of testing your gold and silver. We generally value gold and silver according to the quality and weight of the item.
Do I have to clean my jewellery before I bring it to you?
No, cleaning your jewellery is not necessary.
Do you accept broken or damaged jewellery?
Yes, we accept broken or damaged jewelry, as long as the metal is valuable, that is gold, silver, palladium or platinum, etc.
